Home of the Brave take the music of great Western film composers like Morricone, Elmer Bernstein and Steiner and blend it with a healthy mix of jazz, blues and free improvisation. Led by saxophonist Richard Ormrod and featuring the inimitable Paul Hession on drums, Rus Pearson on bass and guitarist Jonny Flockton these four Leeds based musicians are recording their debut album for Jellymould Jazz this coming weekend. The band was one of 40+ bands and musicians who applied to Jazz Yorkshire to win the record deal with Jellymould. Their music is great fun, is suitable for children (and adults) and makes audiences laugh, cry, stomp and shout. You will know almost all of the themes they play but will never have heard anything like these thrilling, heart-warming arrangements. Tickets available on the door. If you quote Jazz Yorkshire when buying your ticket you will receive 2.00 off the ticket price. Sunday 30th & Monday 31st May. 8pm. Tickets 10/8 8/6 quoting Jazz Yorkshire ...more details

How to get your gig added to the Gig Guide

At present gigs are added to the calendar by a small team of volunteers and friends of Jazz Yorkshire.

We will endeavour to get your gigs added as soon as we can but it is recommended to send them over as early as you can as it might take a few weeks to get them into the guide.

It helps if you can include website links for the artist and promoter as this helps people when they want to find out more about your gig.

It will also be quicker if you can send a Word or RTF document with the details rather than just sending a printed flyer

new feature - residencies

The Gig Guide now includes pub and club gigs which take place on a weekly basis. If you organise or know of a pub gig which should be added please let us know.
