In November the Futures 3 team spent a day at Leeds Media Centre working with musician Gary Husband and promoter / programmer Geoff Amos. The day was split between presentations, including a session using Gary's "Hot Wired" album with the Drive Quartet as a case study for planning and recording an album. In the afternoon all the team had the opportunity to have one-to-one sessions with Gary, Geoff and Nigel Slee from Jazz Yorkshire. It was an inspiring day for us all.
Pianist and drummer Gary Husband grew up in Leeds and has an impressive CV with projects and recordings with John McLaughlin, Jack Bruce, Robin Trower, Allan Holdsworth Trio with Jimmy Johnson, Mike Stern, Hamburg's NDR Big Band and Frankfurt's HR Big Band.
