Investing in Promoters

In 2008-09 Jazz Yorkshire will be investing £28,000 in the region's voluntary promoter network*. This is because Jazz Yorkshire believes this network of organisations offers the greatest opportunity for musicians and audiences to access high quality jazz performance. The following 12 promoters will be supported with funding between £500 - £5,000:
Leeds Jazz, Sheffield Jazz, Wakefield Jazz, Huddersfield Jazz, Grimsby Jazz, Scarborough Jazz, The Lescar (Sheffield), Seven Jazz (Leeds), Jazz at The Priestley (Bradford), LIMA (Leeds), The Spin Off (Leeds) and Jazz Connection (Leeds).
* A voluntary promoter is a club, organisation or individual who is promoting jazz as a not-for-profit activity (any financial surplus is put back into the club and not taken as profit).

Useful resources for promoters

Musicians - looking for gigs?
