Fusion World Music Band needs a double bass player

Fusion is a well established world music band performing in art centres and similar venues around Yorkshire.

We mix and blend songs and sounds from a variety of traditions, as well as our own original material, for each performance drawing on a wide range of instruments – from saxophone, flute, melodica, mandolin and violin, to keyboards, folk and flamenco guitars, electric guitar, piano accordion, Irish whistle and Arabic lute. We draw on songs and music from Morocco, Spain, Thailand, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Syria, Nova Scotia and the Punjab...our latest material comes from Greece and the Isle of Harris...

We now need a person who plays double bass to join us. Are you interested?

You'll need to have an openness to world music and trying out new things. We welcome people with new ideas and hope to give opportunities for creative music making. Ability to sing would be an advantage!

You'll get to join an interesting group of musicians - nice gigs but not a great money spinner! We perform about once a month and rehearse in Leeds about once a fortnight. We will be performing again in early March 2012.
