artist development project run by Jellymould Music Productions in
association with The Lawrence Batley Theatre. The project has been awarded
an Arts Council 'Grants for the Arts' award. Their first featured artist
is 19 year old vocalist Ruby Wood who will be recording a live CD "An
Evening with Ella and The Great American Songbook" in the LBT Cellar on
Saturday 24 June. This will then tour to theatre/concert venues throughout
the country.
Garforth Arts Festival 200630th June – 8th July Grimsby Jazz / Laura Fowles CDFollowing an enjoyable gig at Grimsby Jazz, guitarist Pat McCarthy decided that the band: Laura Fowles, Jamil Sheriff, Pat McCarthy, Zoltan Dekany and Caroline Boaden, should get into the studio to record a CD asap. The project is being partly funded in an innovative way combining pre-selling CDs and a loan from JAZZYORKSHIRE voluntary promoter Grimsby Jazz. The band will be going into the studio in late July. The album will go on sale for £12 but can be pre-ordered for £10.

New recruit toJAZZYORKSHIREPhil Hudson, Credit Manager of Yorkshire Bank has now joined the JAZZYORKSHIRE Board of Directors. Originally from Sheffield and now based in Leeds, Phil has been with Yorkshire Bank for 30 years working in a wide range of roles. Phil says "I have always been interested in live music and I'm excited by the opportunity to join the JY Board and learn more about the jazz scene in this region". JAZZYORKSHIRE was introduced to Phil Hudson via the Arts & Business Board Bank scheme. The other members of the Board are Robert Gibson, John Drury, Charlotte Bowen, Mike Gordon, Jamil Sheriff and Tony Whyton.
