Jonathan Chamberlain: piano, Russ Pearson: Bass, Kris Wright: drums

Originally from Hull, Jenny is a recent graduate of LCM. She began to take an active interest in jazz at the age of 16 when she and fellow school friends formed a jazz quintet. Later that year she was invited to sing and tour with the Hull Youth Jazz Orchestra. In 2002 Jenny participated in the LCM vocal jazz summer school ran which encouraged her to study jazz at degree level. At LCM Jenny sang with the Al Wood Big Band and the LCM Jazz Choir (led by Kari Bleivik). In 2006 she was awarded the prize for jazz and popular music vocal. Tonight’s set will be ‘Fresh and fun’ arrangements of Standards.

Jamil Sheriff: piano, Gary Simon: bass, Jonas Backman: drums.

Originally rooted in the jazz standards and Brazilian music, Rosie's repertoire is now broadening as she explores different collaborations. Kari Nergaard Bleivik - voice
Rune Mandelid - guitar / electronics

This project grew out of a 6 year long collaboration while Norwegian musicians Rune and Kari were studying at Leeds College of Music. Their music has been described as lyrical and soulful, and is a mix of acoustic and electro-acoustic composition, loops and real-time sampling. Improvisation plays a vital part in their music. Kari now lives in Leeds where she is actively involved in the creative LIMA scene and sings with The Sharkestra and The LIMA Orchestra.
